WordPress Widget Management

In this chapter, we will learn about Widget Management. Widgets are small blocks that perform specific functions and provide design and structural control to your WordPress theme. Some specific features of widgets include:

• They help you add content and functionality.
• They can be easily dragged and dropped into the widget area.
• They vary from theme to theme and are unique to each theme.

  Step (1) − Click Appearance → Widgets .

Step (2) – The following screen of available widgets appears.

The following features are displayed on the page:

• Available Widgets : You can add them to the main sidebar area.

• Unused Sidebars: These unused sidebars can be permanently removed from the widget list.

• Unused Widgets: Removes widgets from the sidebar, but retains them in the settings.

• Main Sidebar Area: Any widgets added here will be displayed on your site.

• Manage in Customizer: Return to the Customize page.

Step (3) – Drag and drop in the Sidebar Main. Any widgets you add here will appear on your site.
