WordPress Reading Settings
In this chapter, we will learn about Reading Settings. Reading Settings is used to set content related to the homepage. You can set the number of posts displayed on the homepage.
The steps to access Reading Settings are as follows:
Step (1) – In WordPress, click Settings → Reading option.
Step (2) – The Reading Settings page displays the following screen.
Below are the details about the Reading Settings fields.
- Home Display – This section is used to display the home page in any of the following formats.
- Latest Posts – Displays the latest posts on the home page.

Static Page – Displays a static page on the homepage.

Homepage – You can select the actual page to display on the homepage from the drop-down menu.

Article Page – You can select the page containing the article from the drop-down menu.

Blog Pages Show at Most – The number of articles to display per page or site. The default is 10.

Feed Show Most Recent – The number of articles a user can view when downloading the site feed. The default is 10.

Each Article Shown in Feed – This section is used to display the article by selecting any of the following formats.
- Full Text – Displays the full article. This is the default setting.

Summary – Displays the summary of the article.

Search Engine Visibility – After clicking the checkbox “Prevent search engines from indexing this site,” your site will be ignored by search engines.
Step (3), click the Save Changes button to save your reading settings information.
